20 epic colour postcards of Malta in the 1950s
Will you be sending any postcards from Malta this summer?
In the age of emails, texting, Instagram and Facebook, postcards can seem SO last century.
But there is something charming and hugely personal about receiving a picture postcard.
Of course in the days before telephones when we only had snail mail, they were an important way for people to communicate with each other.
This amazing collection of Maltese holiday postcards was shared by Pauline Bruce from Melbourne in Australia.
She said: ‘My mother brought this book to Australia when she left Malta in the 1950s with my nanna to remind her of her home.
‘They date back almost 70 years and show some of Malta’s most famous landmarks including The Azure Window at Dwejra, The War Memorial in Floriana, St George’s Bay, St Paul’s Bay and the beach at Mellieha Bay.’
